Mission
Our Vision for 2035 reaffirms CIVICA's commitment to building an enduring European University Alliance and strengthening its position as The European University of Social Sciences.
Building on the success of its previous phases, CIVICA was approved by the European Commission in July 2026 for a third round of Erasmus+ funding, extending support for a further two years and confirming the alliance's long-term strategic role within the European Universities Initiative.
The CIVICA alliance serves European societies by educating future generations, advancing world-class research, and fostering innovation, civic engagement and lifelong learning. Building on decades of successful collaboration, we are developing an innovative, resilient and future-oriented European University that actively contributes to the transformation of European higher education and research.
Our Vision for 2035 focuses on seven strategic priorities:
By 2035, CIVICA aims to:
- Education
- Innovation and Lifelong Learning
- Research and Scientific Priorities
- Service to Society
- Creating a CIVICA Community
- Global Outreach
- Sustainable Institutional Cooperation and Common Infrastructure
Together, these priorities will strengthen CIVICA's contribution to the European Education Area and European Research Area, while reinforcing its position as a global leader in the social sciences.
