The 1st CIVICA at SGH Warsaw School of Economics Conference, titled ‘The EU economy and society in the 21st century – governance, environment and democracy at the crossroads’ will take place on 16–17 April 2026 in Warsaw.
SGH Warsaw has launched a call for proposals for conference participants, inviting researchers to submit abstracts that tackle pressing questions facing Europe today.
The conference welcomes research on the EU’s economic, social and political challenges, including governance, sustainability, democracy, and the effects of digital transformation on society and labour markets. The agenda also addresses policy responses to climate change, economic inequality, migration and the future of European integration in a rapidly changing global landscape.
How to apply
Interested faculty members at CIVICA institutions should submit an abstract of no more than 500 words here. The deadline for abstract submissions is 15 December 2025. Authors will be informed of acceptance by 31 December 2025.
Travel and accommodation costs will be covered for participating presenters affiliated with CIVICA universities, subject to acceptance for presentation.
Eligibility
Applicants must be faculty members affiliated with one of the CIVICA member universities. In cases of co-authorship, at least one author who will participate in the conference must be from a CIVICA university. The conference is on-site and will be held at SGH Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw.
