CIVICA, in collaboration with the IPLI Foundation and PolSim, invited students to take part in Project Arctic, an interactive simulation exploring the links between climate change, geopolitics and conflict in the Arctic region.
The workshop combined a theoretical introduction to Arctic geopolitics with a crisis-management simulation, giving participants the opportunity to represent key regional stakeholders, engage in negotiations and develop policy responses to a simulated crisis.
Participants developed their negotiation, debating, critical-thinking and strategic skills, while gaining a deeper understanding of Arctic policy and geopolitical dynamics. Working individually and in teams, participants also prepared and presented a policy brief from the perspective of their assigned stakeholder.
All participants who completed the workshop received a certificate, with awards presented for Best Individual Speaker, Best Policy Brief and Best Teamwork.
