In a bid to enhance collaboration, accelerate research initiatives, and strengthen ties across member institutions, the second round of CIVICA Faculty Short Visits is set to commence this December. Eighteen esteemed professors and postdoctoral researchers have been chosen to participate in this unique programme, facilitating academic exchange within the CIVICA alliance.
The initiative encourages faculty and postdoctoral researchers from various CIVICA member institutions to engage in cross-institutional visits, thereby fostering collaborative activities, research advancements, and the establishment of new partnerships. The selected candidates submitted comprehensive proposals outlining the purpose and goals of their intended visits, encompassing a diverse array of academic initiatives.
The selection committee, comprised of vice-presidents for research and senior faculty members from across the alliance, meticulously evaluated the proposals based on scientific merit and the potential impact on ongoing research endeavors. The chosen participants represent a balanced mix of sending and receiving institutions, promising to build new collaborations and enrich the academic landscape within the CIVICA alliance.

This cohort joins the twenty-six scholars selected in the inaugural round, who are currently engaged in enriching visits across the CIVICA alliance. These academic visits are anticipated to enrich the collaborative spirit within CIVICA and contribute to the advancement of research, knowledge, and partnerships across the participating institutions.

The CIVICA Faculty Short Visits Scheme is organised in the framework of CIVICA - The European University of Social Sciences, funded by the Erasmus+ programme. CIVICA brings together ten leading European higher education institutions in the social sciences, humanities, business management and public policy, with a total of 72,000 students and 13,000 faculty members. Together, they build on an ever-stronger combination of teaching, research and innovation to mobilise and share knowledge as a public good and to facilitate civic responsibility in Europe and beyond.
