Successful start of the academic year for CIVICA at SSE
The new academic year has started at SSE and everyone at the school was delighted to welcome the new students during the past week. One of the highlights was the academic fair, which provided representatives of CIVICA the opportunity to get to know the incoming BSc-students early on.
”The academic fair provides an opportunity for the students to get to know departments that they would otherwise not meet until later in their studies, to find out about the many interesting institutes at the school, and to learn more about some of the other functions within the SSE family”, says Sofia Eliasson, Programme Manager BSc Business & Economics and one of the organisers of the fair.
Professor Laurence Romani is in the lead of CIVICA at SSE and was busy at the CIVICA stand together with two CIVICA Ambassadors. She was pleased with the outcome of the fair and the great interest the students showed in CIVICA.
“The fair was a success, so many students came to the stand, and it was a continuous flow of questions. It was great that we were three, so we were able to answer all of them. It was so wonderful to hear that several students said they chose to study at SSE because of its CIVICA Engage Track. We really looking forward to welcoming new students either in the CIVICA Ambassadors programme, or the Engage track”, Laurence says.
