CEU Elkana Center selected to coordinate external evaluation of EQAR

Central European University’s Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education (CEU YECHE) was selected to coordinate the external evaluation for The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education. CEU YECHE was chosen for its global expertise in higher education, including in European HE policy, the development of the EHEA and the workings of the Bologna Process.

The European Quality Assurance Register for Higher Education (EQAR)announced on December 14 that Central European University’s Yehuda Elkana Center for Higher Education (CEU YECHE) was selected to coordinate the EQAR external evaluation. As the register of higher education quality assurance/accreditation agencies that have demonstrated compliance with a common set of principles for quality assurance, EQAR is a key institution in the European Higher Education Area (EHEA).

CEU YECHE was chosen for its global expertise in higher education, including in European HE policy, the development of the EHEA and the workings of the Bologna Process.   

Regarding the EQAR’s collaboration with CEU YECHE, CEU Provost, Professor of Higher Education Policy and Director of the center, Liviu Matei comments: “We feel privileged that an important actor in the European Higher Education Area has entrusted us to lead such a significant review process. We are looking forward to make a contribution to the work of EQAR and to quality assurance in the EHEA more broadly. We trust that our cooperation with EQAR will add to the growing European reputation of our center.”
